Ruoasta perimme muodolliset 4 euroa hengeltä kulujen kattamiseksi. Asukastoimikunta tarjoaa ylimenevän osan! Myös limut tulevat asukastoimikunnalta Pizzat saapuvat n. klo 18.10. Ole ajoissa paikalla! Ota myös naapurisi mukaan!

The laundry room telephone paying system is broken at the moment, and because of this the washing machines cannot be turned on.

HOAS has been notified, and the Kannelmäki office has said that the company will fix the system shortly.

The drying facilities are still in working order.

The daylight is getting shorter and the first snow already felt: December is coming soon and with it Christmas. For me, personally, this is one of the most beautiful times in the year. There is a white blanket everywhere; it is chilly but not too cold yet; there is quietness typical of the winter; and soon there will be candles by the windows. Please note that, although this is a very interesting tradition, you might not want to burn your flat. So be careful when and where you light your candles. 

The Christmas spirit does not come only from the decorations in the shops but there are many events around Helsinki that prepare you for this celebration. In my opinion, some of the best are: the Suomenlinna Christmas Event, in the beginning of December; the Ladies’ Christmas Market, also in the first weekend of December; St. Lucia’s Day; and the many Christmas concerts. If some of you are interested in visiting the Suomenlinna and do some Christmas shopping I suggest you go directly to the workshops, which are open only for this event. You might find a good bargain. There are many other events so you don’t have to stay home watching TV or studying all the time But the one event you must remember above all is our Christmas Party on the 5^th of December from 19:00. No excuses as the 6^th is a holiday, the Independence Day. See you all there!

Laitetaan piha kuntoon haravoiden ja keräämällä roskat talteen. Otetaan lenttisverkko suojaan talven alta. Siivotaan kerhotilat ja katsotaan mitä pitää muuta pitää kunnostaa. Merkataan pyörät pyörävarastojen siivousta varten. Grillataan. Jutustellaan. Nautitaan.

The busy ant worked the all summer getting ready for the winter. I hope it wasn’t the case for you but we still need to prepare with another thing for the winter: it’s the work party. Basically it resumes to cleaning our inner patio of all the leaves and rubbish, while mingling together with your neighbours. For us foreigners is a good opportunity to meet Finnish natives in a friendly atmosphere and together work for a common goal. Of course, it won’t be only work, the word party isn’t there by mistake . So please come and join us at 13.00 on the 21^st of October. Don’t let the chill weather take the best out of you!
